Private Pilot License (PPL)

License Description:

The Private Pilot License (PPL) is the gateway to a career in Aviation. This also allows more freedom in recreational flying. With a PPL you are allowed to carry multiple passengers and fly any aircraft up to 5700 kg, providing you hold the appropriate rating for that aircraft. A PPL is the perfect way to take off you Aviation dream, whether for professional or recreational purposes.

A PPL will be the first license required to fly. It allows more freedom with different types of aircraft and multiple passengers. If you want to make Aviation your career or just fly family and friends around, the PPL is the right choice for you. A PPL will cost only marginal more than a NPL (National Pilot License) as it only requires 10 hours more of flying. With a NPL you are only allowed to carry 1 passenger and fly Light sport aircraft, which are restricted to a maximum weight of 600 kg.

Night Rating (NR)

License Description:

The Night Rating can only be commenced after completion of the Private Pilot License. We strongly advise any pilot obtaining your Night Rating. The Night Rating is also a requirement to train towards a Commercial Pilots License

A Night Rating enables you to fly an Aircraft at night, but not authorise or gives you skills to fly in poor visibility conditions. Night training in general makes you a better and safer Pilot. It opens up a new world of exploration, as well as allow you more freedom when it comes to travelling between points. You can only do Night training with holding a Private Pilot License.

Commercial Pilot License (CPL)

License Description:

Your Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) is the license you will require in order to take up flying as a career. This is the minimum requirement to receive remuneration for any flying services provided. To qualify for a CPL, one will need to have a valid PPL, NR and be min 18 years of age.

The CPL allows you to receive remuneration for being a Pilot. 100 Hours of the required 200 hours is Pilot in Command hours, which means you can fly solo or with passengers in any aircraft which you hold the appropriate rating for.

Instrument Rating (IFR)

License Description:

An Instrument Rating is the rating that will enable you to fly in bad visibility an adverse weather. It will equip you to fly solely by referencing to your instruments within the cockpit. Instrument ratings are now available for both PPL and CPL pilots.

This rating authorise you and give you skills to fly in poor visibility conditions. Instrument training in general makes you a better and safer Pilot.  This rating can be completed within the required hours of a Commercial license and will make you a more employable Pilot.

The IFR course consist of:


Instrument Rating (IFR)

License Description:

Your Instructors Rating enables you, as Commercial Pilot, give Flight training.

You will require the following qualifications in order to start your Instructors Rating:  

A Commercial Pilots Licence. An Instrument Rating

 

Extra Information:


An Instructors Rating is optional, but comes highly recommended, as it almost always is a requirement if you are interested in joining the Airlines. In addition to this, an Instructors Rating also gives you another job opportunity and a means of building vital flying hours while earning money in the process.
